In this course you will learn how to work with Photoshop, one of the best tools for creating content and digital media. Create images, graphics and video for social, web and print. Develop a portfolio or media for your organization or business.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
This course is targeted at intermediate software users. If you have some familiarity with design or editing software you are good to go!

About Mike

Mike Simpson is an award-winning educator and designer from Toronto. He’s passionate about photography, websites and e-learning development. He’s the founder of Tdot Shots and Tdot.com. His site, AncestryProject.ca, won “Digital Teaching or Learning Resource” award from TESL Canada in 2017.

Course Software

Learn how to use Photoshop

Photoshop is the ultimate tool for photo retouching, creating images and graphics, and for working in compositing or preparing assets for 3D, motion graphics, print and other design applications.

Course revision and software note: This course was originally designed with a video editing component. However it now focuses on graphic design with Photoshop. A video editing course will be released in spring 2022.

Tech Requirements

Course Software: Adobe Photoshop is required (you should use an up to date Adobe CC version). Lightroom may be substituted for some image editing but to complete the lessons and assignments Photoshop is required. To use current versions of Adobe software you will need a a basic subscription.

Hardware: A desktop or laptop computer with strong performance is recommended. Media software usually suggests a minimum of 8 GB of RAM and 10-20 GB of free disk space.

Course Dates and Time Requirements

Start Date: Photo Graphics with Photoshop started December 2021 / ends February 2022

Each module will require you to spend 1-2 hours so total study time over the course will be around 8-10 hours.
